Carus Publishing Company weaves a literary web aimed at capturing kids' imaginations. With a focus on high quality stories and illustrations, the company's Cricket magazine targets young teens. Other publications include Babybug for the youngest tots, Ladybug for toddlers and preschoolers, Spider for elementary school kids, and Cicada magazine for teens. Carus Publishing also publishes a variety of books through its Cricket Books and Open Court divisions. Carus launched in 1887. Its flagship magazine, Cricket, debuted in 1973. Marianne Carus formed the publishing company to bring quality literature to children. Today ePals Corporation, operater of an educational digital platform, owns Carus Publishing.
