He received his degree of Civil Engineer (MSc) at the Katholieke
Universiteit Leuven after which he studied at Technion (Haifa -
Israel). Jean-Pierre Rammant finished his Ph-D doctoral work at
the Faculty of Applied Sciences - K.U. Leuven in 1976 on Finite
Element Analysis of fiber reinforced concrete structures. In 1977
he was Associate Professor at M.I.T. (Boston, USA). From 1978 till
1981 he was a professor at the Engineering College Group T - Leuven.
It is during that same time that he started up the Software & Consultancy
company SCIA (Scientific Application Group). Since 1987 he has
been the CEO of Nemetschek Scia and its branches. Lately, he also became
Vice President of the Group of Engineering Software companies within
Nemetschek AG, to which Nemetschek Scia belongs since February
2006.
Jean-Pierre Rammant is the president of the Sint Lukas Art College
in Brussels since 2002 and has a great passion for contemporary
art. In 2005 he became co-founder of the association Art Without
Bars, organizer of art projects in prisons.
